Additional 40 MW Unified Leyte contract will help to push income for Aboitiz Power Tongonan, Leyte Geothermal power plant, Philippines

Aboitiz Power has ambitious plans to "increase capacity by 2,000 MW in the next five years"

In a recent press release done by Aboitiz Power, the company has posted a decrease in its consolidated net income, yet the firm is focusing on developing new projects and expanding their business. According to the press release, “the 40 MW strip from Unified Leyte that was awarded earlier by PSALM to a subsidiary of AboitizPower, the Company’s net attributable sellable capacity will increase by 14% from 2,210 MW to 2,524 MW in 2015.”

It is also worth mentioning that the generation business accounted for 81% of earnings contributions from AboitizPower’s business segments. The compnay remains firm in expanding their operations and “increase capacity by 2,000 MW in the next five years”
