CPC Corporation Taiwan and Schlumberger have entered into a cooperation framework agreement for geothermal energy and carbon neutrality to move towards net zero goals by 2050.

State-owned CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC Corporation) and Schlumberger Ltd. (Schlumberger) have signed a global strategic cooperation framework agreement that aims to achieve goal of net zero emissions by 2050. With this agreement, the two companies will jointly carry out the planning and deployment of projects in geothermal energy, carbon neutrality, and digital transformation.

The signing ceremony took place during the 2022 Digital Integration Forum held in Lucerne, Switzerland. The agreement was signed by CPC Corporation Deputy General Manager Zhang Min and Schlumberger Senior VP Frederik Majkut.

In response to the cooperation between the two parties, CPC Corporation pointed out that Schlumberger is the world’s leading oilfield service company. With the recent transformation of the international energy structure, Schlumberger is also developing markets in the field of new energy, providing related products, services and technologies. Solutions, its services and strategic alliances include world-renowned energy companies.

CPC Corporation and Schlumberger are both members of the Taiwan-US Carbon Capture, Reuse and Storage (CCUS) Industry Promotion Alliance. The cooperation between the two parties will accelerate the promotion of related carbon reduction work. On the road of new energy, Schlumberger introduces the successful experience of foreign CCUS, geothermal energy, solar photovoltaic, energy storage, hydrogen energy and carbon emission management to Taiwan, which will help accelerate the transformation and development of CPC Corporation.
