Less than a week to the World Geothermal Congress 2020+1, last preparations are done to welcome you to Iceland either on site, or virtual for those who were not able to make the journey.

We are counting down the days and hours … with now less than a week to go until the World Geothermal Congress 2020+1 will open with a cocktail reception on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, things are hectic behind the scenes.

With the uncertainties of the pandemic, virtual program, we are now absolutely thrilled to welcome the geothermal world to Iceland. Final touches are being made to the program, securing presentations, virtual participation of the folks who are not able to join us, the social program and so much more.

These will be some exciting days. The Field trips offered that take people to the nearby geothermal plants and facilities in and around Reykjavik provide a great opportunity to learn first hand why we often call Iceland the geothermal showcase. So make sure to register for them in time before they are booked out.

We hope to be reporting and covering things from the floors of the venue at Harpa here in Reykjavik, so tune in into our Instagram account, while we will also mass upload imagery to our Flickr account.
