The company has now started the processes of EPC, contracting and looking for finance for the Te Ahi O Maui geothermal project.

Local news from NZ state that Eastland Group is planning to invest $97m over the following 5 years in order to develop their assets, “the $100m Te Ahi O Maui project”.

Geothermal is growing consistently in NZ and the company wants to expand their influence on the sector. The company already has a geothermal plant in Kawerau.

According to the same news source, “all resource consent appeals surrounding the project have now been resolved and consents are in place to build a 20MW geothermal plant 2.3km east of Kawerau.”

TThe company has now started the processes of EPC, contracting and looking for finance for the Te Ahi O Maui project “for the board to consider within the next 12 months.”
