EDC has received seven awards, including the prestigious Platinum Anvil Award, in the most recent Anvil Awards for outstanding public relations projects in the Philippines.

Energy Development Corporation (EDC), the Philippines’ largest geothermal company, received seven awards for their public relations efforts in the 54th Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). The Anvil Awards is considered the most important awards event in the field of Philippine public relations, providing a platform where outstanding, effective, and innovative PR programs by companies and organizations in the country can be recognized.

The highest distinction received by EDC during the event was the Platinum Anvil Award for the “OMGeo” travel vlog, an eco-tourism initiative that features the geothermal resources of the Negros Island, as well as its other natural wonders.

EDC also received Gold and Silver Awards for various PR programs, namely:

  • The BINHI national greening legacy program that promotes preservation of threatened species of native Philippine trees;
  • The BINHI Youth Camp, which aims for the development of youth eco-leaders in the Negros Island
  • EDC CAREERS (College Admission, Review, and Readiness), which provides scholarships and professional guidance to students;
  • Battle of the Brains-Negros, a science quiz bee for high school students that promotes awareness of environmental and energy issues.

With their various PR efforts, EDC is hoping for the enhanced engagement of stakeholders and the general public to advocate for renewable energy and take action to mitigate the effects of climate change.
