ENNA Geo, through project company Geo Power Babina Greda, has completed a series of 3D seismic and magnetotelluric data measurements at the Babina Greda geothermal site in Croatia as part of a power plant development project. According to the company, these surveys are an important step in characterizing the geothermal potential of the study area.
The surveys covered the Babina Greda, Sikirevci, and Gundinci municipalities, and were carried out by Poland-based Geopartner Geofizyka. Data was collected from both the Babina Greda 1 exploitation field and the Babina Greda 2 exploration area. The company took over Babina Greda 1 back in 2022, while Babina Greda 2 was acquired in 2024.
Processing and interpretation of the obtained data and their connection with existing geophysical and well data will create a quality basis for a more precise definition of the geothermal reservoir itself, as well as planning for further development of geothermal fields. Exploration drilling in Babina Greda had already started in 2025, although the company is yet to release any results or findings from this campaign. The geothermal potential of Babina Greda had already been identified back in 2019, and development of this site had been intensively targeted since 2020.
