SeeNews: " The pact calls for technical cooperation in environmental impacts, survey methods, improving exploration accuracy and sustainability of geothermal reservoirs and supporting public acceptance of geothermal projects."

More details have surfaced following last week’s MoU signing between Japan and New Zealand. The pact was signed by New Zealand’s GNS Science and the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC).

According to SeeNews Renewables, “the Japanese want to tap into New Zealand’s expertise as they seek to raise their geothermal output, GNS Science said.”

This is not a new occurrence since GNS Science has been providing consulting and specialist services to Japan in geothermal matter for decades.
