Both companies will provide drilling and site supervision alongside with geologists for the Sarulla project. The contract has a time period of 20 months and it is expected to start in the third quarter of 2014.

Sarulla Operations Ltd (SOL) has awarded a contract to Geothermal Resource Group, Inc. (GRG) to provide expert drilling supervision, senior geologists, and well site supervision for a 36-well development drilling project at the Sarulla Geothermal Field in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Sarulla is currently one of the largest geothermal developments in the world. Drilling for the 20-month contract will commence in the third quarter of 2014.

The Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition 2014 (IIGCE) served as a platform for Shinohara Takao, Chief Executive Officer at SOL, Bill Lajousky, Chief Operating Officer at SOL, and Bill Rickard, Founder and President of GRG, to formalize the contract.

“We’re very much looking forward to working with Mr. Takao and the entire Sarulla development team. This is a great opportunity to help develop a successful and robust geothermal power generation project,” said Rickard.
