Puna Geothermal Venture in Hawaii is planning to drill an additional production well to re-establish sufficient steam supply for its 38 MW geothermal power plant.

Reported locally, Puna Geothermal Venture (Ormat) the operator of the only geothermal plant in the state of Hawaii is planning to drill an additional well.

The planned well is to help the plant to maintain production levels at the installed capacity of 38 MW. The plant currently produces only around 30 MW due to decreased production at one of its five production wells.
