The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) hosts a unique business to business networking session during the Geothermal Resource Council’s Annual Meeting on Tuesday, September 22. CanGEA is hosting this B2B on behalf of the International Energy Agency’s Geothermal Implementing Agreement (IEA-GIA). Alison Thompson (CanGEA chair), who serves as the IEA-GIA’s Direct Use Annex Communications Task Leader, will begin the reception with a presentation: “Direct Use Geothermal Energy: Why We Must Always Talk About Heat When Talking About Power.” Alison will be joined by Dr. Katharina Link of Switzerland who is the Annex Chair.

CanGEA is taking a new approach to networking. Along with traditional elements the B2B will be hosted in a gameshow format. Alison says about the new concept: „This is a first for the geothermal world and is the ultimate ice-breaker towards more productive business relationships within the industry. Speed Networking is a speed dating style event where attendees meet one-on-one for short conversations with other professionals.
