An opportunity for a Geothermal Scientist to join Jacob's principal geothermal centre of excellence based in their Auckland office.

We currently have an opportunity for a Geothermal Scientist to join our principal geothermal centre of excellence based in our Auckland office. Reporting to the Geoscientific Team Leader, you will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of technical work relating to the geoscientific evaluation and reporting of geothermal resources being explored or developed for power generation. Your experience providing broad geology, geochemistry and geophysics support and specialist expertise in one of these disciplines from initial resource appraisal and exploration through to resource development and operation will be highly regarded.

This position requires you to have a well developed analytical and technical report writing skills. Self motivation and the ability to deliver project work in a team environment on time and within budget, programme and quality requirements is sought after. A familiarity with geothermal resource assessment techniques including demonstrated experience with the collation and manipulation of geoscientific data are critical to success in this role. Strong computer skills and experience in the use of industry software such as Leapfrog, Surfer, Strater and ArcGIS will also be an advantage.

You will be keen to travel overseas for exploration field work, sometimes in remote locations.

In addition, you will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in geology, geochemistry, or geophysics, and have at least 3 years geothermal industry experience.
