After only 18 months after spud-in, developer KS Orka has commenced the commissioning of the first 15 MW unit of its Sorik Marapai geothermal power project in Indonesia.

KS Orka announced today that it has started commissioning of the first phase of its Sorik Marapi geothermal power project. This announcement comes after only 18 months after the spud-in on site.

The first phase of the project is bringing online 15 MW in geothermal power generation capacity, with further addition to follow shortly. From the drill pad C, the project team of KS Orka aims for a total installed capacity of 55 MW.

Chinese-Icelandic joint venture KS Orka is currently developing three geothermal power projects in Indonesia.
