Maibarara Geothermal Inc. currently operates an integrated 20-MW geothermal power facility in the same area.

Earlier last month, good news came from Maibarara in the Philippines, where Maibarara Geothermal, Inc. (MGI) announced a 10MW expansion to their current plant, expected to be operational on 2017.

MGI with the help of external consultants such as Jacobs has been doing further research in the hopes of finding more untapped geothermal potential.

According to local news, this research now shows that there is “potential of 10 MW to 26 MW of power output south of and outside of the current area of development.”

This results could signal a third expansion for the Maibarara Geothermal project that “currently operates an integrated 20-MW geothermal power facility in Sto. Tomas, Batangas that started commercial operations in February 8, 2014.”
