Mighty River Co is in great financial shape and enjoys a very advantageous position, yet the international expansion is unlikely, at least for the time being and is regarded as a smart move to shift focus to the national market.

In a recent post in the Canberra Times by Matt Joass it is states that Mighty River is poised to focus on its national interests and leaving behind projects in the Americas. As states in the article, “In Mighty River’s prospectus the company outlined plans for international expansion with geothermal developments in South America and the United States. However, after further evaluation the company appears to be choosing to instead return its focus to New Zealand.”

The article also shows a that financially, the company is in great shape and enjoys a very advantageous position, yet the international expansion is unlikely, at least for the time being.

The aforementioned author highlights that focusing on their national market is the correct choice, since “with no clear competitive advantage in international markets, that’s a smart move.”
