Supreme Energy sees potential of installing a power plant with 2 turbines of 110 MW each and the government wants to have it operational in 2015, after giving the greenlight to all technical and administrative requirements to the company.

Local Indonesian news inform that the government has recently realised the great geothermal potential of Mount Rajabasa and is trying to attract investors to the area. One of the interested parties is Supreme Energy.

According to the same source, it is estimated that by utilizing the geothermal potential in the area, central government, neighbouring provinces and the South Lampung regency government will get a royalty of about 2.5 per cent per KWh of all results issued by PT. Supreme Energy.

From the government’s side, it is expected that production will be operational in 2015 and the latest research shows that there is potential for 220MW, and according to Supreme Energy, the capacity to build a power plant with 2 turbines of 110 MW each.

Some concern the ecological impact of the site, yet the government has assured that all technical and administrative requirements have been met by the company.
