To complete the addition of up to 85 MW at its Ulubelu and Karaha geothermal units this year, Pertamina Geothermal Energy is planning to drill additional 14 wells this year.

Picked up through social media channels, it is reported that Pertamina Geothermal Energy is planning to drill up to 14 new wells on its geothermal project sites.

The plan is to add up to 85 MW in capacity to increase current capacity from 532 MW of geothermal power generation capacity to 617 MW.

It is planned to drill on its geothermal working area in Karaha and Ulubelu. The new Ulubelu Unit IV power plant is expected to generate up to 55 MW of power by June 2017.

Karaha Unit VI with a planned capacity of 30 MW is also expected to come online this year.
