Yudistian Yunis has been appointed as the new President Director of Indonesia's state-owned geothermal developer PT Geo Dipa Energi.

Indonesia’s state-owned geothermal developer and operator PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) has confirmed the appointment of Yudistian Yunis as the company’s new President Director. An oath-taking ceremony to mark this appointment was held at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta by the Director General of State Assets, Rionald Silaban, with the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati present as witness.

Yudistian Yunis had previously served as Director of Commerce and Exploration Development at PT Geo Dipa Energi since 2022. He fills the position of President Director replacing Muhammad Ikbal Nur, who sadly passed away a few months ago.

During the ceremony, Minister Sri Mulyani expressed her hope that PT Geo Dipa Energi will continue to develop geothermal with good governance. She specifically mentioned the Dieng 2 and Patuha 2 projects which will add 120 MW of geothermal installed capacity. We had previously reported on the start of drilling operations for these expansion projects.

As part of good governance, the Minister said that PT Geo Dipa Energie will need to conduct all business operations safely and strictly abide with all forms of compliance. The Minister hopes that the company will become a healthy state-owned enterprise (SOE) that is reliable and is able to become an instrument in the energy transition of Indonesia. She also stressed that the SOE needs to “realize projects in a timely manner so that all investment interests in the field can run well.”

Yudis expressed his gratefulness in being trusted as the head of the company. He also acknowledged that running a company playing an essential role in the energy transition is a big responsibility.  “I promise to do my best especially for Indonesia’s geothermal development,” said Yudis.
