PT Geo Dipa Energi plans to drill up to 12 wells for the 55 MW Patuha 2 geothermal power project in the Bandung regency, Indonesia. Drilling could start in April/ May 2021.

PT Geo Dipa Energi will soon conduct geothermal exploration by drilling 12 wells in the ciwidey area of ??Mount PatuhaKab. Bandung, according to Riki Firmandha Ibrahima, President Director of PT Geo Dipa Energi, in a statement to Jabarek Pres.

“Of course we will empower local residents rather than from abroad. As well as community service, both from the local community, maybe we will also ask for help from the Koramil, or with the Police, we work together to carry out work monitoring, “said Riki in an interview, this week.

Riki explained that his party will drill 12 new wells in the Patuha 2 PLTP development project in the Ciwidey area, Bandung Regency.

The 12 wells are located on a path or path that is already owned by PT Geo Dipa Energi. Therefore there will be no land acquisition process.

“We will drill 12 wells on the path we already have, so that there is no land acquisition for the project to be implemented,” he explained.

Riki said it is hoped that this project can add 55 MW of electricity. The budget for the project is around IDR 3 trillion or around USD 211 million. The company is conducting preparatory work at the moment..

“Drilling will start in April or May 2021, hopefully it will not be delayed, now the preparations have been made. And will use a budget of Rp 3 trillion, “said Riki.

According to him, well drilling will be carried out when all preparations have been completed so that the Patuha 2 PLTP project is expected to be completed in 2022 or 2023 at the latest.

“After drilling, hopefully in 2022 or 2023, because we continue to drill, we will also build a power plant which we call a power plan,” he said.

According to Riki, in Patuha there is an electricity potential of up to 400 MW. Therefore, this project will not be completed at the Patuha 2 PLTP, but there are other Patuha PLTP projects.

“We will not stop at projects that will be implemented at this time. We are also studying and working together to comply with 3, obey 4, comply with 5, the potential here is 400 megawatts, “he explained.

Meanwhile, Bandung Regent Dadang Naser said that the construction of the Patuha 2 Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) in the Ciwidey area will have many positive impacts for the progress of Bandung Regency.

Dadang revealed that the Patuha 2 PLTP will be an industry that produces electrical energy from Geo Thermal. The benefit is that the electricity supply for the community and industry will be better, thus increasing the economy and ease of investment.
Dadang further explained that the Patuha Unit 2 PLTP is planned to operate in 2033, and is located in Ciwidey, Pasir Jambu District, Bandung Regency with an area of ??36,120 hectares.

“We will move all elements of society, hopefully helping and supporting this national strategic project. Moreover, the party working on it is state-owned company PT Geo Dipa Energi. Now the socialization stage to the community is to help each other secure the national project, especially this is a BUMN sub unit of the Ministry of Finance, “he concluded.
