PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy and PT Medco Power are to collaborate on a study to help to optimize geothermal development in 7 regions or development of 700 MW in Indonesia.

As reported from Jakarta last week, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy are planning a joint study with PT Medco Power Indonesia in terms of geothermal development in the Pertamina Geothermal Energy and Medco Power Work Areas spread across Indonesia.

The collaborative kick-off meeting held on January 8, 2020, attended by Pertamina Subholding Power & New Renewable Energy (PNRE) CEO Heru Setiawan and PTH President Director of Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tafif Azimudin and MPI President Director Eka Satria.

PNRE Subholding CEO Heru Setiawan said that solid collaboration is needed in geothermal development to support the Indonesian government in achieving national renewable energy-based electricity targets.

“This kick off meeting is a follow-up to the mutual agreement signed by both parties with the aim of optimizing geothermal development in 7 regions or development of 700 MW,” Heru said in a press release, so Kontan.

The geothermal development study will be carried out in the working area of ??Pertamina Geothermal Energy and Medco Power over the next six months. The study is expected to accelerate geothermal development in the Pertamina Geothermal Energy and MPI working areas.

Heru added, the study will cover technical, legal, environmental and social aspects, commercial (including funding), and risks, which are expected to produce a competitive business scheme and have a positive impact on both parties by prioritizing compliance with compliance  or good corporate governance  (GCG). ).
