Star Energy successfully closes bond issuance of US$350 million

Indonesian Star Energy Geothermal Ltd just obtained US$350 million in extra funds from the issuance of bonds, which was 2.85 times higher than the company`s projection.

In a release, Indonesian “Star Energy Geothermal Ltd announces it had obtained US$350 million in extra funds from the issuance of bonds last Friday.

The amount was 2.85 times higher than the company`s projection, Star Energy Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Bret Mattes said.

He said 44 percent of the bonds was sold in the Asian market, 40 percent in the American market and the rest in the European market.

“Barclays Capital, Nomura and Standard Chartered Bank are among the main banks helping sell the bonds in the Hong Kong, Singapore, London and the United States markets,” he said.

Star Energy Geothermal is one of the largest geothermal electricity producers in Indonesia, with exclusive rights to exploit and utilize geothermal resources at the Wayang Windu geothermal field in West Java.

The geothermal field has the capacity to generate up to 217 megawatts of electricity.”
