This year's IGC Forum, which closed yesterday and GeoTHERM expo which is still taking place today, have brought together a wide range of companies and presenters to create a once again successful set of events for the geothermal sector.

The past two days I attended two events in Offenburg, Germany. The IGC Forum, a smaller format conference/ workshop held now for the 12th time and attached to the GeoTHERM epxo & congress featured a series of elements from the impressive Turkish geothermal development, other international development, drilling and general risk mitigation on the day before and the first day of the GeoTHERM event.

As part of the IGC Forum I gave two presentation, one on the geothermal market in Turkey, which I will shortly put up on ThinkGeoEnergy’s Slideshare account and another on the geothermal wellhead power plant solution by Green Energy Geothermal.

The GeoTHERM expo & congress then started yesterday with an opening session, in which the winner of the European Geothermal Innovation Award was named. We reported on the winning company, Exergy earlier today, see here.

A two-day event, it is now taking place for the 10th time, as an event that combines both the shallow geothermal sector (heat pumps and related) and the deep geothermal sector. It has established itself as the leading European industry event and congress for the geothermal sector.

Last night, the GeoTHERM again held its annual expo/ congress dinner, which has to be one of the best events of that kind in the geothermal sector. Great food, fantastic setting, good wine provided once again for a get opportunity for networking and relationship building.
