Three geothermal working areas - Cisolok, Guci, and Bora Pulu - are set to be announced for auction by the MEMR in Indonesia.

The Indonesian government is set to announce the tender for three geothermal working areas (WKP) as announced by Harris Yahya, Director of Geothermal, Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The three sites and their locations are as follows:

  • Cisolok WKP in Sukabumi, West Java
  • Guci WKP in Semarang, Central Java
  • Bora Pulu WKP in Central Sulawesi

Harris Yahya mentioned that all three areas have potential of more than 50 MW and that they already have initial data.

The Cisoloko and Guci sites have previously been awarded to PT Jabar Rekind Geothermal and PT Spring Energi Sentosa, accordingly. However, the geothermal permits were revoked in 2020 after the exploration period had passed and the MEMR deemed that there had not been significant process in the areas.
