The Turkish Ministry of Energy believes geothermal energy could save up to $400 million annually in energy costs. It could also provide a net income of up to US$10 billion over the medium term by fully and efficiently utilizing its geothermal energy potential.

Geothermal energy can have a great impact on a country, as Iceland has shown. In Turkey, the country’s Energy Ministry believes the country could save up to US$400 million annually by fully using its geothermal energy potential .

The net income from the geothermal energy sector could be up to US$10 billion in the medium term and provide employment to up to 300,000 people. This is all ander the premise that the country would fully and efficiently utilize its geothermal energy potential.
