Xtreme Coil to drill test well for Sierra Geothermal in Nevada

Canadian Xtreme Coil Drilling Corp commits drilling rig for a vertical test well with coil to a depth of approximately 7,000 feet for Sierra Geothermal Power on site in Nevada, U.S.

In a release by the Canadian drilling company, Xtreme Coil Drilling Corp says it has committed its sixteeenth rig in the fleet, XTC 200DT, to drill a vertical test well with coil to a depth of approximately 7,000 feet for Sierra Geothermal Power at the company’s project in western Nevada.

According to the news this is the first time coiled tubing will be used in a geothermal drilling application.
